This latest painting of Janice Joplin was created from a black and white photograph then converted to color before painting.

I have recently painted four and soon to be five paintings of stained glass. My most prized painting is of the Eagle. This particular painting is from my earlier painting of a bald eagle this year. I feel very strong about the feelings of these paintings and that I am drawn to paint them.

As winter holds some of us somewhat captive here in Michigan this particular winter has opened up my eyes to the beauty of Motown , Hitsville USA. As the world was boiling hit after hit after hit came out of Motown.I searched for weeks upon weeks to see if any of the artists had ever been painted. I could only find The Supremes as being painted and only once that I can see so far. As I uncover more and more of the history the more I want to paint the artists of Motown. I hope other artists can join me in this quest. Before the summer is here, before the local shows begin, before Woodward , before well Detroit just loves cars. From January through April I want to paint 1960's vehicles, cars or trucks. Presently I am focusing on 1968 autos. So if you have a photos of a paintable vehicle my fist ten will be painted for free ( a $250.00 savings ). I need a photo with nobody but the car or truck. Moving into a phase of muscle cars for the winter months in preparation for the shows in 2014. In Michigan people have a love affair more so with the muscle car era than and other. Evidence of that shows up with all of the hundreds of muscle car events in south eastern Michigan every year. Well, this be accepted ? My style for RockArt and The Detroit Tigers sells well at art shows. So its going to be a little risk. Then again everything I paint and put out there for sale is a risk. Go figure. Just having a little fun.

I am really looking forward to the winter season that is fast approaching. I am going to put more effort into my RockArt with emphasis on folks who I grew up with , danced, to, boogied to, stomped to, four stepped to, with hats to bandanas. With all of my art being digital I have more flexibility to create my movement , choose from a myriad of brushes , and enjoy seeing looks of potential customers at shows. When they see my style ( unlike anything they have eve seen before) they sometimes stop dead in their tracks and view my traveling gallery. I hope that you enjoy the journey as much as I do.
